Chennai Super Kings had a fantastic outing in the previous season of the IPL tournament. They went on to dominate the majority part of the fourteenth edition including the first phase and the second phase as well.
The yellow army went on to beat Kolkata Knight Riders in the final match on October 15. They went on to win the IPL final on one-sided terms.
Kolkata Knight Riders also had an eventful season during the last edition. They were not very successful in the first phase of the IPL. But Kolkata Knight Riders did extremely well in the second phase.
However, they lost the IPL final due to a failed middle order which was a major problem for them last season. But KKR has a new squad with a lot of young players.

The newly appointed KKR captain has been in phenomenal form in recent times. Shreyas Iyer has been unstoppable in the recent home series and he will be looking to continue that in IPL as well.
