Chael Sonnen recently expressed his views regarding Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal and the Diaz brothers. According to him these are the type of Fighters who don’t need to fight for the title right now. Rather they should focus on fighting fighters who can pay them better.
Talking with the bad guy IMC podcast, the “American Gangster” stated:
“Stop trying to be the world champion. Stop. You, Conor McGregor and anybody with the last name of Diaz, you get to play by different rules. You’re the only ones. You three knuckle heads go find each other and don’t look for anybody else. Nobody gets to come up into your elitist group because nobody’s done as good a job as you guys have“
Rightly so, the amount of fan following these fighters have is far greater than any other UFC superstars. Also, it’s not like they were gifted with it from the start. Rather they worked hard for it.
“It’s you three and you three need to figure this out. Masvidal needs to be in there either with Nate Diaz, with Nick Diaz, or with Conor McGregor. Conor McGregor needs to be in there with either Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, or Jorge Masvidal. It makes all the sense in the world..Jorge and Conor and anybody named Diaz, they are above the champions, they’re above the fray, they’re above the pay-per-view points, they’re above the sold out arena”
Sonnen also believes that these three fighters are far above any other champions. However, it is certain that if they won’t run for the title, they might lose their fan following in the current fight world. So, keeping that in mind all these fighters have to choose their opponents appropriately.
What’s next for Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz?
With Conor McGregor currently at Rehab for his UFC 257 injury, and Jorge masvidal also facing issues with his fitness. It is uncertain when they will return. Both fighters recently went into a Twitter feud.
Coming to Nate Diaz, he has only one fight left in his UFC contract and according to sources, Dana White is trying really hard to push him for another. So for fight fans, waiting for their favourite fighter to return is the only solution.
